ENVIRONMENT : Environmental Assessment

With any major construction project it is essential that precautions are taken to minimise damage to the environment. Large scale hydroelectric plants have extreme knock-on effects to the environment due to the use of dams. Our small scale run-of-river schemes do not have such drawbacks.

For all sites we produce an Environmental Statement presenting the potential side effects of building a hydro scheme. We consult specialists in areas such as botany, archaeology, fisheries, geology and hydrology in order to carry out detailed site surveys. The final document covers all aspects of the project, including effects on society, tourism and on landscape, together with the related interactions between them.
